Thomas Townsend Brown created charged capacitors which exhibited anti-gravity effects. In the movie Back to the Future, the Flux Capacitor is what makes time travel possible.

The character named BIFF is short for BIoFieldefFect

Biffs Last name is Tannen. Tannin is a brown color used to soften leather = Thomas Townsend = Brown.

In the movie the mall is called Twin Pines Mall. After Marty goes back in time he runs over a Pine Tree and the mall has been renamed "Lone Pine Mall". In William Leybourn's book (Pages 12 and 13) he outlines the construction of a double cone perched upon two inclined rails. This appears to make it look like the cone is rolling uphill. This effect is commonly called the Anti-gravity double cone.

Towards the end of Back to the Future, the DMC DeLorean in the Movie was outfitted with an Anti-Gravity Drive system. The Flux Liner is an anti-gravity vehicle that was on display at a san diego air show.
